1/ Selling your own products or services online.

The principle of selling your own products or services through a website is fairly straight forward.

First you simply design and build your website around your product range with your content (text and images) being primarily focused on the promotion of your products and even company. You will need photos and written descriptions of all your products to be included on your website.

Choose a domain name and hosting company for your website and set up and include a shopping cart and payment system so people can view your product range and make their purchases through your web site. This will involve setting up on your server (uploading) a database of your products for your web site to reference for this purpose. Your hosting company should provide instructions on how to set up the e-commerce aspect of your site.

You will also need to open and account with a banking merchant such as Paypal, Worldpay, Verisign or Paystation (to name just a few) to process the credit card transactions and receive the money when someone makes a (credit card) purchase through your website. It is also preferable to purchase 'SSL certificates' to secure your transaction.

Then, with your site built and set up, and your online transaction handler sorted, you're ready to take customers.

You could also consider marketing and selling your products through Affiliate Programs to further increase their exposure and your profits.
